Water Issues Close to Home?
In today's Express Time, there's a letter "As New York City Hoards Water, the Delaware Suffers." Basically, there is a ballot question for NJ voters about water conservation and protection. About 27 years ago, the four Delaware Basin states and NYC figured out how to deal with the Delaware River water at a time when NYC was in need of water because of a drought and mismanagement. New Jersey gave up some of its water rights then. Now NYC seems to be hoarding the water while the Delaware rivers are low and there are adverse affects to the aquatic eco-system. http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/opinion/index.ssf?/base/news-2/1254110726119340.xml&coll=3
