Perhaps it's the fact that the climate talks are coming up in Copenhagen, but news sites seem to be headlining more over global warming. As of usual there arn't many stories on the front page of the popular major news sources, but more recently they seem to be showing more articles, for perhaps a strong concern is arising, unfortunately the major American web sites (CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews, C-Span, NY Times (US. Edition)) are NOT headlining concerns. On the other hand major foreign sites are, and here's their recent accounts:
BBC: on carbon on climate increasing
Der Spiegel (granted in german): on increased carbon emissions
NY times, Global Edition: on flying and carbon offsets
now it's quite sad that the major US websites arn't headlining anything on the issue, but I suspect that currently those headlines don't 'pay the bills' for these major sites and there's probably also the deals going on to prevent such news from being shown. A great example of this, is that during the recent Olympics NBC (I believe) were given exclusive rights to the Olympics in exchange for not criticizing China in any way during the span of the Olympics except for mentioning the smog. But if one want's to read articles concerning the problems with pollution in America, a left wing site called, commondreams.org nicely and academically portrays these viewpoints.
