Obama's going, but are politics too?

According to the NPR website here President Obama is going to Copenhagen, but then the question arises, even if he is going, what is america as a whole going to support?

  1. First off, I am so happy to see that Obama has decided to attend Copenhagen after speculations that he would not. In my opinion, I think that the general population in America is behind climate change. Just by listening to last week's presentations on industry, it seems that the general consensus is that measures need to be taken to change. Consumers are reaching out to companies demanding green products and the companies are actually listening. Just by those facts, I do think that America as a whole will support Obama if he makes the decision to sign onto an agreement to reduce GHG. However, I think the biggest problem is getting the two political parties to reach an agreement between themselves on what exactly the president should do. I think America has already made their voices clear with our stance on climate change. It's the government that I am worried about. Everyone seems to be in agreement that something needs to be done, the question is what should that action be.

  2. Im wondering if Obama's participation with this will keep the conservatives from giving their support to the whole Global Warming cause. Its seems like this will put a political spin on a subject that should have no political affiliation.
