Obama in Copenhagen

Mike had mentioned that Obama is planning on attending the talks at Copenhagen, but it was unclear what, if anything he would do. Now, according to a recent story in the New York Times, Obama plans to pledge a reduction of emissions by 17 percent by 2020, and 83 percent by 2050. This is based on the 2005 benchmark. What is not clear is if the 83 percent is in addition to the 17 percent, making it 100 percent, or if 83 percent is our target.

    Perhaps someone would like to input these numbers into the simulator we've used in class? I can't remember the web address.
